After a sell-out run in 2017, Mr Black’s Festival of the Espresso Martini returns this year as CAFFEINE, a revved up reincarnation honouring the best of Australia’s bar and coffee culture.
What do you get when you put Mr Black Coffee Liquor, Ketel One Vodka, world class cocktails by The Everleigh , speciality coffee, and antipasto from Salt Meats Cheese into one warehouse space? A tasty AF three-day celebration of coffee and the culture it supports: food, music, liquor and creativity during Sydney’s premium celebration of culture and the arts, Vivid Festival.
Also in attendance is fried chicken & burger lords Johnny Bird, premium mixers Fever-Tree, Über Bar Tools famous master classes and the flavour behind your favourite cocktails, MONIN. Plus, delicious gelato from Mr Goaty, chilled coffee from Cold Drip Co. and last but definitely not least, purveyors of the fine black gold itself: Little Marionette Coffee.

Coffee. Cocktails. Food. Good times. Obviously.
DRINK. Guests will enjoy caffeinated creations from Sydney's best bartenders and baristas at variety of themed bars and coffee 'shops'. This year we welcome Melbourne's world-renowned bar, The Everleigh, to the fray, curating an opulent bar reminiscent of golden era cocktails. Chronic enablers Young Henry's will be running their craft beer bar all weekend alongside Sydney's delicious Cake Wines and Fever-Tree's non-alcoholic beverages will keep caffeine levels in check. And of course, we'll keep the Mr Black flowing.
EAT. Crows Nest's very own Johnny Bird are slinging the tastiest fried chicken burgers around. Word on the street is Salt Meats Cheese are whipping up a coffee-risotto flaming wheel of cheese, and who could forget the adult friendly Mr Goaty ice cream truck (boozy affogato's anyone?).
LEARN. Mr Black in conjunction with Uber Bar Tools and Monin will be running Espresso Martini workshops, plus Cold Drip Co. are hosting Masterclasses all weekend. Friday night guests will be treated to a very special session with baking queen Katherine Sabbath!
LISTEN. We're curating a selection of young Australian DJs & Musicians to perform at every session, beginning to end. Get ready to boogie with Luen Jacobs, Alice Q, Martin Novosel (Purple Sneakers) and UNDR CTRL Djs.
LOOK. It's VIVID, baby! Escape the crowds, get caffeinated and watch the lights.
The pinnacle events of Caffeine Festival are the evening sessions, Mr Black's OPENING NIGHT & MAIN EVENT parties.
Not only will the lucky crowd of 500 be treated to all the usual goods the festival has to offer, you'll witness the Cargo Hall transformed into an assault on the senses; with mind-blowing performances and entertainment happening all around, you won't want to blink.
